Menin Gate Memorial
The Menin Gate Memorial to the Missing, located in Ieper, Belgium, is one of four memorials to the missing that commemorate British and Commonwealth soldiers who died in the Ypres Salient during the First World War and have no known grave. Located at the town’s eastern exit, on the road that leads towards Menen and Kortrijk, it stands on one of the main routes once used by Allied soldiers travelling to the front lines.
